The house

Kitchen, living, dining, primary bath. These are the current renders.

Air quality from day one

New houses get sealed up tight for the energy bill. That is good for heat. It is rough on the air inside if nobody thinks about what goes into the walls.

Paints, adhesives, sealants, and cabinetry all off-gas when they are new. That is what “new house smell” actually is. We spec low- and no-VOC so the air is clean the day you move in, not six months later.

Insulation, then materials

Insulation is not only the power bill. It controls moisture, evens out the temperature room to room, and keeps pollen and dust from leaking in around the gaps.

Then wood, stone, and finishes that are not packed with synthetic compounds, wherever they can do the job. You feel a healthy house before you can name why. The air is just easier to breathe.

On the hill. Eighteen minutes from Lincoln.

The house sits on the crest, not tucked into a corner of the lot. Quiet. Restful. Close enough to town that the drive is nothing.

Built the Carlson way

Health is a spec, the same way a beam is a spec. Plan first. Subs bid the actual house. Everything ordered before dirt. One superintendent from foundation to final walkthrough.

Liv Hus is the house we are building that way. If you want your own, the custom-home process is the same process.

How custom homes work

Questions

What does health-conscious mean on this build?

Air quality from day one. Low- and no-VOC paints, adhesives, sealants, and cabinetry. Insulation that controls moisture and keeps outside air from leaking in. Natural materials where they can do the work. We do not claim WELL, LEED, or a medical outcome. This is how Stefan is building the house he would want to live in.
