1989 GARAGE ADDITION
This garage addition was designed as more than just a place to park—a versatile space that blends with the character of the neighborhood while accommodating the unique needs of part-time residents. The homeowners, who live in Alaska and visit for extended stays, needed a structure that could store their large conversion van and eventually serve as a guest apartment. The solution was a vaulted garage with ample vertical clearance, a tall custom garage door, and a loft space prepped for future finishing into a livable casita-style apartment. Structural engineering by King Little ensured the build was exceptionally strong and ready for multi-use functionality. The garage complements the home’s classic architectural style and offers a durable, flexible solution for both storage and seasonal living.
